One of the things that set Strange Paradise apart from other Canadian programs of the time was the large group of on and off camera talent that was assembled to work on the production.
From TV veteran Herb Kenwith as the first director, to noted Canadian TV and stage veterans Colin Fox, Jack Creley, Cosette Lee and others, to Dark Shadows stalwarts Ron Sproat and Bob Costello to soap opera writing legend Harding Lemay, Strange Paradise had an impressive pool of talented people to draw from.
In addition, for many crew members, Strange Paradise was their first taste of working on a big TV production, a baptism of fire of sorts that would serve them well later in their careers. Many still cite their Strange Paradise experiences as helping them in their future endeavors.
