Maljardin Arc
EPISODE 7

In the mansion on Maljardin, Raxl and Alison speak together at breakfast. Raxl relates to Alison that Dr. Menkin is dead. Alison inquires as to what happened but Raxl tells her it is better not to ask, as evil is all around them. However, she does relate the story. According to Raxl, Dr. Menkin wanted to leave Maljardin and was on his way to the boat. He fell on the stairs by the boat dock. Jean Paul was with him, but Raxl fears it was Jacques DesMondes possessing him at the time. She says Menkin was pushed by the spirit of Jacques, who is possessing Jean Paul. Alison does not want to believe this, but does concede that everyone must get off of the island. Raxl warns that Jacques will not allow this. Alison recalls her dream and realizes that she must escape Maljardin.

In the French Leave Café, Vangie is reading tarot cards, Tim Stanton joins her and mentions to her that the thug sent to rough him up is still hanging around as he is still $7,500 in debt.

Back on Maljardin, Raxl asks Alison if she has spoken recently with Jean Paul, but Alison says he is not to be found. Alison wants to ask Quito if he will take her back to the mainland, but Raxl forbids it. At the same time, Vangie detects evil and says she must fight it.

At Westley House, Reverend Dawson asks Holly’s roommate Dinah where she has gone, but Dinah says she doesn’t know. She asks the Reverend if he has a “thing” for Holly, telling him that all the kids are aware of it. Eventually she tells him that Holly flew South and that some of the girls chipped in to give her money to help her stay away from her mother.

Later, Holly arrives at the French Leave Café and orders a drink. Tim stops her, telling her she’s too young to drink, but Holly protests, saying her ordeal has put her in need of one. Vangie’s tarot cards reveal that Holly is on the run and alone, that there are riches in store for her, and that she faces the threat of death. She asks Holly what she is running from and who is chasing her. Vangie draws the Nine of Swords (the card of death) but she is not sure who it is intended for.

In his office, the Reverend Dawson is on the phone with the police department, saying he intends to take a trip. He finds out that Holly has gone to Port French Leave.  Mrs. Marshall (Holly’s mother) interrupts the Reverend before he leaves and asks him if he knows where Holly is. He tells her he has a suspicion, but says he won’t reveal where she might be so that Holly can “find herself.”  Mrs. Marshall suspects that the Reverend wants to follow Holly wherever she is. The Reverend tells Mrs. Marshall that she disturbs Holly and that if she interferes, Holly might not want to return home. He informs Mrs. Marshall that he will tell her of Holly’s whereabouts if Holly wants him to.

On Maljardin, Raxl finds Alison asleep in front of the fireplace. Alison awakens and heads upstairs, concerned over what is happening on Maljardin.
