One of the most interesting sources of information on lost Strange Paradise plotlines is the Broadcast Logs of the CBC. The broadcast logs not only list actualy broadcast dates and preemptions, they often summarize plots that were either changed significantly or dropped altogether and thus give a pciture of the development of Strange Paradise over time. This month's entire archive features some interesting items from the Broadcast Logs. Enjoy!

May 25, 2009 - Preemption Cancellation Notice
Being a daily serial, Strange Paradise was always in potential danger of being preempted due to breaking new stories or political events. At right is an example where a scheduled preemption was cancelled, allowing Strange Paradise to air as usual. Instead of being preempted on December 8, 9, and 10 of 1969 for coverage of the Federal-Provincial Conference, Strange Paradise aired as usual.

May 18, 2009 - Program Log - Episode 48
Another interesting dropped plotline comes from the log for Episode 48, originaly broadcast on Christmas Eve, 1969. Originally, an investigator was to arrive on Maljardin, seeking answers to the mystery of Erica's death. In the end, no investigator arrived, and Dan Forrest was left to take the role of the person looking into Erica's demise.

May 11, 2009 - Program Log - Episode 42
The CBC broadcast logs often contain information on plots that either were shortened or eliminated altogether at time of broadcast. This week's log features the summary for episode 42, which features Jacques forcing Elizabeth to relive her time as Tarasca, an evil priestess. This plotline was eliminated from the actual broadcast episode.

May 4, 2009 - CBC Program Log for October 20, 1969
Our archives for May kick off with a copy of the CBC program descrption for Strange Paradise, which was simply a summary of program details recorded each week alongside specific episode broadcast dates and summaries. The log shows the program debuting on October 20, 1969 at 2pm, and is notable in that it still lists Alison's last name as "Grant" as opposed to "Carr"
