Voiceover: Rev. Dawson“On the isolated island of Maljardin, mysterious and supernatural events tear Jean Paul Desmond's conscience and threaten his sanity. Why is his wife Erica’s blood on a locket which he laid to rest with her in this cryo capsule? How did the locket get around the neck of this black rabbit that survived the poisonous vegetation of the island? Whose skull is this and will Raxl find the answers in the witchcraft of the secret temple of the serpents?”

In the main hall, the Reverend tells Jean Paul that if they knew more they might be more willing guests. The Reverend insists Jean Paul was attacked, but is confused as to why he now seems perfectly normal. Jean Paul asks Raxl where the skull is. Raxl tells him he left it below with Quito. She tells him it is a warning – what he has in mind for Erica means death. Jean Paul says he has two courses, both of which could lead to damnation, so how is he to choose?

 The Reverend asks Holly if she saw anything before she drank the wine, but she tells him she did not. The Reverend insists that she must not go through with another séance, and Holly finally agrees. Jean Paul asks Jacques if all the events that recently happened were his doing. He wonders if Jacques might be concerned that Erica might say something he does not want to hear. Jean Paul vows to find out one way or another.

In the crypt, Jean Paul questions the locket – is it real? Raxl says it must be because she can see it. Jean Paul asks what is in the capsule and Raxl replies that “the sleeping mistress” is in it. Raxl tells Jean Paul that the locket was transferred out by an evil spirit, but Jean Paul continues to wonder what he will find if the capsule is opened. Jean Paul vows there will be a séance and Raxl declares that it means death.

Upstairs, Tim enters Holly’s room and is relieved that she is ok. She asks what’s wrong with him and he says he just came in to cheer her up. He says that if she hangs on they will get off of the island, but is not specific about how. He tells her no more séances…then leaves.

Jean Paul vows to have the séance, but the Reverend and Holly refuse to participate, telling him that even if he persuades them, others will prevent it. Jean Paul asks the Reverend what others. He also vows that the séance will not be prevented, even if it was to save his own life.

Jean Paul tells the Reverend that he has been about what he said. The Reverend is confused, telling Jean Paul that he already told him that, but Jean Paul does not remember. He bluffs his way out of it, saying the only way to peace is to continue the séance and achieve contact with Erica. He offers The Reverend a brandy.  The Reverend gets upset, asking if Jean Paul is trying to drive him mad, as he just offered him a brandy one hour ago. Jean Paul wonders whose hand poisoned Holly Marshall. He takes the brandy he poured for the Reverend and leaves the room, heading to the lab.

In the lab, Jean Paul begins to ask Alison if she’d like the brandy, but does not. Instead, he asks Alison if she will be a part of the circle to contact Erica. She agrees she will be there, but tells Jean Paul that he needs to persuade the Reverend and Holly. Alison asks Jean Paul what he wanted with the brandy but he says it doesn’t matter.

In the main hall, Tim tells the Reverend that Dan is down at the boathouse looking for a way to escape and that he will be going too, but says they need a distraction in order to get away. To help Dan and Tim, the Reverend tells Jean Paul he will participate in the séance, but only if he will listen to his terms. Jean Paul tells him there are no bargains when a soul is at stake. The Reverend replies that those are his terms as well.

Jean Paul says now that the Reverend has agreed to the séance, only Holly remains to be convinced. He vows to persuade her and heads upstairs. While on the stairs he has some kind of attack and takes the brandy decanter and throws it, as if he cannot control himself.

In her room, Holly is eating breakfast. Jean Paul enters, telling Holly was concerned about her. She is hesitant, and Jean Paul asks might be, wondering if he has done something to frighten her. She tells him no. Jean Paul apologizes for all that has happened to her in his house, and assures her it will not happen again if he has the power to prevent it. Holly asks if he knows who poisoned her and ho the spirit was that pushed her down and if he knows who slashed the portrait of Erica.  Jean Paul says he can tell her why these things have happened, but only when they contact Erica. He insists he must go through with the seance or there will never be peace for anyone.

In the lab, the Reverend tells Alison he agreed to the séance to give Dan time to get off the island.  He is sure that even if Holly refuses to participate in the séance Jean Paul will find a way to have another séance. Meanwhile, Jean Paul shows Holly the locket and tells her that it is the key to everything. The only way to get the answers they seek is the séance, or opening the capsule. He asks Holly if she would drive him to do that. Jean Paul promises to protect Holly during the séance and she finally agrees to do it.  As Jean Paul stands behind Holly and promises to protect her, he suddenly has an attack and cannot control his hands as they move to strangle Holly. Holly turns and asks Jean Paul what’s wrong. With effort, Jean Paul controls himself, tells Holly he is fine and leaves the room.

Downstairs, Jacques tells Jean Paul he is quite alone. Jean Paul ignores him and heads to the crypt where Raxl tells him to open the capsule and avert the séance. Raxl asks what should be in the locket and Jean Paul realizes that he put a pearl inside of the locket when he gave it to Erica. Jean Paul asks Raxl to open the locket. As she does, she finds the pearl. Jean Paul is now convinced that the pearl was a sign and declares there will be a séance.
