Holly descends the stairs and sees Quito who seats her and asks if she’d like to eat.  Holly asks for coffee.  As she starts to drink it, Quito touches her head from behind, causing her to scream.  Jean Paul enters and yells at Quito, dismissing him from the room.  Jean Paul tells Holly he would rather they all be there under better circumstances. In the crypt, Quito examines the cryonics equipment and Erica’s capsule.  He arranges the flowers on it, then cries over her.

In the drawing room, Jean Paul and Holly discuss her father.  Holly tells Jean Paul that she and her father were very close.  She indicates her mother was the source of her unhappiness.  At that point, her mother interrupts.  Jean Paul receives a warning about Elizabeth from Jacques, giving him pause for thought.  Jean Paul rings for Quito, asking him if he checked the gauges on the cryonics equipment.  He instructs him to go to the mainland and get the mail.  Elizabeth inquires about Quito and Holly dislikes her line of questioning.  Jean Paul dismisses himself and once he leaves Elizabeth warns Holly to be nicer to Jean Paul.  Holly implies that Elizabeth is only after money, both hers and Jean Paul’s.

In his room, Jean Paul suffers from a headache as he lies on his bed.  Jacques asks him if he’s thinking of Erica.  Jean Paul insists that she’ll live again but Jacques tells him that will happen only if Jean Paul goes along with him. Jacques tells Jean Paul that he ought to allow him some pleasures of the flesh, especially with Elizabeth, but Jean Paul refuses so Jacques suggests Alison.  Jean Paul is disgusted at the notion.  Jacques chides him for his resistance then possesses him.  Jacques searches the bookshelf in the bedroom and removes some books.  He presses a switch that opens a door to a hidden room and enters it just as Holly knocks at the door.  Hearing no answer, Holly enters but finds the room empty.  She leaves, wondering where Jean Paul is.

Downstairs, Tim asks Holly what’s wrong.  She explains that she saw Jean Paul enter his room but that he’s not there now.  Tim asks Holly if the feud between she and her mother ever gets old, then departs to the dining room.  In the dinging room, Tim asks Elizabeth if she saw Jean Paul leave his room.

In the secret room, Jacques watches the monitors.  He records a message for Jean Paul, telling him that when he possesses him the efforts of the women to win his favor must prevail.  He speaks to Erica, telling her that Jean Paul will be joining her soon, as soon as he is finished with his body, implying that his efforts to help Jean Paul are not all they seem to be.

Tim and Elizabeth speak.  Tim tells Elizabeth that he feels she’s not so bad and offers to tell Jean Paul that, too.  Elizabeth tells him that she’d be happy with his involvement.  She tells him that she feels Holly has been throwing herself at Jean Paul.  In the secret room, Jacques watches the exchange, then decides to give Jean Paul his body back.

Jean Paul leaves his room and meets Holly.  She asks why he wasn’t in his room.  He tells her he was taking a shower but Holly doesn’t believe him.  Back in his room, Jean Paul defies Jacques, telling him that each time he is possessed he learns more ways to fight him.  He vows to join Erica in death if science can’t bring her back.  Jacques tells Jean Paul that he can counter any move Jean Paul makes.  Jean Paul threatens to find the pin and conjure doll but Jacques tells him he won’t find where he hid them then forces Jean Paul to lie down, causing Jean Paul to realize that Jacques is more powerful than he is.
