Holly screams and falls on the stairs.  Jean Paul and Reverend Dawson find her.  She claims someone pushed her down the stairs although no one is there now.  Jean Paul says the Reverend was there at the time, implying that he might have had something to do with it.

In the temple, Vangie predicts death on Maljardin unless the demon is caged once more.  Raxl begs for the ability to find the doll and pin.

Upstairs, the Reverend says he resents the implication he harmed Holly but Jean Paul persists, mentioning that his infatuation with Holly could be a motive.  Holly says she is not interested in the Reverend and Jean Paul warns him to stay away from her.  The Reverend says Jean Paul will pay for keeping them all there, accusing him of being just as bad as Jacques.  Jacques possesses Jean Paul and Jean Paul now belittles the Reverend’s notions.  He tells Holly not to fear as he will protect her.

Vangie gives Raxl a potion that she must slip into Jean Paul’s drink which will help remove the possession and make him open to Vangie’s will.  Vangie tells Raxl and Quito she must return and repeats her predictions that she will one day die on Maljardin.  Raxl and Quito watch as Vangie disappears.  Quito is frightened but Raxl reassures him that she is safely home.

In the crypt, the Reverend is pushing on the temple door as Quito opens it.  He grabs the Reverend who swears he is not trespassing but that he is searching for a way to save Jean Paul.  Raxl reminds the Reverend that he must keep the location secret.  Raxl asks the Reverend why he was there and he tells her he was looking for the poison.  He also informs Raxl that Holly was pushed and that Jean Paul and Holly believe he did it.  He confesses he fears someone else has the cyanide or that Jean Paul has it and will use it on all of them, especially if he is possessed.  The Reverend asks Raxl if it might be in the temple but Raxl tells him only four people know of the temple’s existence.  She asks him if he pushed Holly and he denies it.

Raxl asks Jean Paul how Holly fell and he repeats his suggestion it might be the Reverend. Jean Paul and Quito prepare to go to the mainland and the Reverend asks to go with them.  Jean Paul says no, but tells the Reverend he will be taking Elizabeth to the mainland.  The Reverend asks Jean Paul if he’s worried Elizabeth will tell people about Erica.

Later, Jean Paul and Elizabeth arrive on the mainland.  Jean Paul/Jacques wonders how Elizabeth can take Holly’s accident so lightly and inquires how much Holly will inherit.  Elizabeth says she believes Holly made the story up.  Quito returns to the island with a gift for Holly and Raxl tells her she believes she has charmed him.

On the mainland, Elizabeth is about to tell Jean Paul how she feels when Vangie interrupts and asks if Elizabeth wants her cards read.  She says no but Vangie persists, dropping a card on the table, the King of Scepters.  After she drops it, Jacques leaves Jean Paul, and Jean Paul asks for the cards to be read.

On the island, the Reverend attempts to tell Holly that Jacques is the evil spirit but Holly believes someone is out to get her. In the crypt, Raxl confesses she has been unable to give Jean Paul the potion and wonders if she should give it to Holly.

Back at the Café, Jean Paul asks to hear his fortune alone, and when Elizabeth leaves, he asks Vangie about Erica’s future.  He asks for contact with Erica by means of a seance.  She agrees if Jean Paul will risk any messages she might bring.  He says he will risk all, and if necessary, everyone.
