Voiceover: Raxl - “Maljardin, becoming shrouded under the darkness of night, the fateful night when Holly and her mother were about the leave the island. But as they prepare to depart, they find the boat missing. Together they return to the fate that awaits them in the mansion of evil.”
In the main hall, Jean Paul demands to know what happened to the boat. Holly tells him it will be OK if they stay until morning. Jean Paul wants them to leave, but Erica tells him that it is impossible. Raxl tells Jean Paul that Quito is searching for the boat. Jean Paul tells Holly and her mother to go to their rooms. Holly refuses to go. Erica is happy at this, and tells Holly she knew she could not leave without giving her some sign of affection. Jean Paul warns Erica to stay away from Holly. Holly tells Erica that she had to leave, and Mrs. Marshall adds that they were going together to start a new life. Erica chastises Mrs. Marshall for trying to take Holly away. Erica tells Holly that they will go to her room and talk. Jean Paul forbids it. Mrs. Marshall insists that she and Holly will get away. She begs Jean Paul to let them leave immediately. Jean Paul says it is impossible now, as they must first find the boat. Mrs. Marshall tells Jean Paul that she would rather drown and take Holly with her. Jean Paul moves to slap her and she calms herself, but insists that she will not be fine until she is away from Erica, as she is evil. Mrs. Marshall breaks down and cries. Throughout it all, Holly, under the influence of Erica, is completely unaffected by the proceedings.
Jean Paul takes Mrs. Marshall upstairs and tells Holly to come with. Raxl warns Erica that she will not have Holly. Erica is concerned as she knows that it is Holly’s life or hers. She calls for Jacques, reminding him that he must not break his promise that she shall live. Meanwhile, in the boathouse, Quito puts a lamp down and leaves. Jacques causes the lamp to swing and break, starting a fire.
Upstairs, Mrs. Marshall is given a sedative. Jean Paul tells Holly that she will be fine, and says that Raxl will stay with them until the boat is found. Raxl does not understand how the boat could be gone. She thinks it is the work of the devil. From the window, Jean Paul sees the boathouse on fire. He worries that the flames will spread. He and Raxl leave. Jean Paul warns Holly to lock the door and not open it.
Alone, Holly worries that the fire is spreading and that she and her mother will be trapped in the room. She tries to wake her mother up but cannot. Suddenly, Holly hears a tinkling sound and feels an urge to unlock the door and go to Erica. As she moves to leave her mother calls for her. The door swings open and Holly closes it, forcing herself to remain in the room. From the other side of the door, Erica calls to Holly and asks her to open it, claiming that she only wants to talk. Holly again tries to wake her mother up, but is unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Erica continues to talk to her through the door, urging her to open it.
In the boathouse, Jean Paul and Raxl attempt to put out the fire. There is no sign of Quito. In Holly’s room, Erica is still talking to Holly through the door. She tells Holly that Jean Paul is mad; he was the one who killed all of her friends. She asks Holly to unlock the door, but Holly cannot. The tinkling sound continues to resonate inside Holly’s head, but she does not give in to it. Outside of the door, Erica turns to Jacques. She asks him, his demons, and even Satan himself for help in getting the door open. Inside, Holly turns to the door and sees the key turning in the lock. Suddenly, Erica opens the door and enters. She tells holly not to be afraid and shows her the locket. She hypnotizes holly with it and puts her into a trance. Holly follows Erica as Jacques laughs.
In the boathouse, the fire is out of control. Raxl asks for help for the gods. The rain comes and puts the fire out. Meanwhile, Erica leads Holly to the portrait of Jacques and tells her to bow to her master, the demon in the canvas. Holly bows and swears her loyalty. Erica tells holly she will be with Jacques soon.
Back at the boathouse Quito can still not be found. In the main hall, Erica tells Holly to stand where she is and wait for her. She takes the pin from the conjure doll’s head and prepares to stab Holly with it. Jacques commands Erica to kill Holly immediately. Erica hesitates, and Jacques asks why. Erica replies that Holly is too innocent to kill. Jacques asks her what innocent has to do with either of them. The question is whether she wants to live or die. Erica asks Jacques to kill Holly through Jean Paul. She drops the silver pin and Jacques tells her to pick it up or be returned to eternal darkness. Erica picks up the pin. Jacques warns Erica that if she not do as he commands he will immediately recall her spirit. Erica begins to slowly walk towards Holly, preparing to stab her. Before Erica can bring the silver pin down on Holly Mrs. Marshall intervenes and is stabbed instead. She falls to the floor as Holly screams. Holly kneels over her mother and Elizabeth tells her that they have made their peace. Then she dies. Jacques again sends Erica to kill Holly. Erica begins to close in on Holly with the silver pin as Holly backs away in terror.
